Case study: Consultants adopt collaboration

Enterprise 2.0 for the enterprise architects aRway

    The request

About a year ago we at Incentive recieved a trial request. We recieve a number of those per day and at first we didn't notice anything special with this particular one. The request came from Mr Patrik Hallén, CEO of aRway and when I a few days later checked up on Patriks progress with Incentive I was amazed. Patrik had set up user accounts for all his 15 employees and they had started on creating content in their demo.

I contacted Patrik and found myself talking to an easy-going but at the same time really focused gentleman who definitely had thought through aRways needs of internal communications. He asked some more or less tough questions about the product over the phone and we ended up scheduling a meeting in Stockholm the next week.

    The deal

We meet in the aRway offices of Gamla Brogatan in Stockholm. Except from Patrik the attendees are Pontus Baum and Anders Fransson. These three will be the driving forces of the entire enterprise 2.0 project at aRway. We talk for about an hour and the deal is done. Just because the deal was done, our relationship did not ended there and then - on the contrary.

    The aRway way

aRway deals with process architechture and modeling. Among their clients are some of Swedens largest corporations and organisations. They needed a new way of working to handle all the information that was stored somewhere in the Gamla Brogatan office but never made it to a digital and searchable format. Incentive was the perfect product that could satisfy all of aRways needs and more. One question that surfaced in that initial meeting was how the Incentive Software handled external users and resources. I argued that this won't be a problem, the three gentlemen nodded their heads and scribbled in their notebooks. aRway is today inviting both their clients and business partners into their collaboration solution to read and discuss the process of working. The clients will see results from aRway from their own desks and contribute with comments or notes in wikis.

aRway has shown a magnificent spirit in this project and is using tables, blogs and wikis in a really ingenious way. Throughout the project they have had an attitude that says "go!" and they're always looking for a solution and not for a problem. They have created a huge stack of content; 3100 different contributions have been created by 21 employees in their Incentivebased "aRway Share" intranet. 3000 files has been uploaded. All of this created by only 21 employees and some selected partners during one year. Around 150 contributions per employee.

The co-workers at aRway have a saying: "before you go and ask someone, check aRway Share. If the answer isn't there, then create a post that answers your question." A simple attitude which for aRway has been a success.

    The future of us

aRway and Incentive has been working closely together since day 1. In the future aRway and Incentive will be working a lot around the mobility of "aRway Share". In a consultancy organisation like aRway it's crucial and a huge advantage to have all company information at your fingertips in your device.
